There is always a gap between people who say they are interested in an event and people who actually register. Closing that gap is the most important thing you can do in the week before your event.
Why people intend but do not register
They forget. They think they have time. They are waiting to see if someone else they know is going. Urgency, social proof, and a clear call to action fix all three.
Creating urgency
Visible ticket quantities — "Only 12 spots left" — trigger action. Early Bird pricing with a hard deadline does the same. These are not tricks; they reflect reality for most well-run events.
Social proof
Post updates showing who is coming — with permission. "30 founders have already registered" converts more fence-sitters than any description of the event. Reshares from excited attendees carry more weight than your own posts.
Direct follow-up
If someone interacted with your event page but did not register, follow up directly in your community or via DM. A personal message converts far better than another broadcast post.
