How Discovery Works

taron is designed to surface events that are relevant to you — based on the communities you're in, the creators you follow, and your event history. Discovery improves the more you engage with the platform, but there are also direct ways to find what you're looking for from day one.

Your Feed

Events from creators you follow and communities you're part of appear in your feed. This is your most personalised discovery channel. If your feed isn't surfacing relevant events yet, focus on joining a few communities and following a few creators that align with your interests — the recommendations will improve quickly.

Search and Browse

Use search when you know what you're looking for — a specific topic, location, or creator. Browse by category or event type when you're exploring. Filters let you narrow by date, event format, and other parameters to find what's most relevant right now.

Through Communities

Communities surface events that are relevant to their members. If you're part of a community for African professionals in tech, that community's event feed will naturally surface tech-focused professional experiences. Being active in the right communities means relevant events find you without you having to search.

Following Creators

When you follow a host or creator, their upcoming events appear in your feed. Following the people whose events you've enjoyed is one of the most reliable discovery mechanisms on taron — you're essentially subscribing to their programming.
