Five Ways to Experience taron

taron supports five event formats, each designed for a different kind of participation and access. The event type appears on every Event Page, and it tells you immediately what to expect — whether you need to travel somewhere, how you will join online, or how much time to set aside.

In-Person Events

Attendees come to a physical location. Check-in typically uses taronPass for QR ticket scanning. The Event Page shows the venue name, address, and a map with a Get Directions button.

As an attendee: have your QR ticket open and screen brightness up before you reach check-in. Arrive a few minutes early for the smoothest entry.

As a host: add precise venue and arrival details before publishing. Include entrance location if the venue is large.

Online Events

The entire experience happens over the internet — no travel required. Access is provided through a link or access URL, which may appear on your ticket or be distributed close to the event time.

As an attendee: locate your access link before the event starts. Have a stable internet connection and any required apps or tools ready.

As a host: use taron's supported access flow to distribute links to registered attendees. Specify preparation requirements in the event description.

Hybrid Events

Both in-person attendance and online participation are supported simultaneously. Some attendees are at the venue; others join remotely. Both groups access the same content.

For taron's community of Africans on the continent and in the diaspora, hybrid events are particularly powerful — someone in Lagos and someone in London can participate in the same experience at the same time.

As an attendee: confirm whether your ticket is for in-person or online attendance. The access details differ.

As a host: provide clear, separate instructions for each attendance type. Hybrid events require more production consideration than single-format events.

Audio Events

Sound-only experiences — no video required. Think live conversations, panel discussions, community calls, or talk-based content where what is said matters more than what is seen.

As an attendee: no camera needed. Audio-only participation reduces friction for people who prefer not to appear on video.

As a host: ideal for interview formats, community discussions, or content where visuals add little to the experience.

Flash Events

Short-notice, time-limited experiences published with minimal lead time. They are designed to be discovered and joined quickly — rewarding the most engaged followers who have notifications enabled.

As an attendee: enable notifications for hosts you follow to catch Flash Events before they fill.

As a host: Flash Events build engagement and exclusivity with your core audience. They are most effective when your followers already have push notifications enabled for your activity.

Common Questions

How do I know which event type to choose as a host?

Choose the type that accurately describes how people will attend. Do not choose Hybrid if you are not genuinely supporting both in-person and remote participation.

Can I register for a Hybrid Event as an online attendee?

Yes. Look for online or virtual ticket options when registering for a hybrid event.

Do Flash Events require registration?

Some do, some do not. Check the specific event page.

What is the difference between Online and Audio events?

Online events may include video from speakers and participants. Audio events are sound-only — no video component for anyone.
