What Are Audio Events?

Audio Events are live experiences where participation happens entirely through sound — no video required. Think of them as live audio conversations: panel discussions, interviews, Q&As, community calls, or talk-based sessions where the focus is on what's being said, not how anyone looks while saying it.

The format has some distinct advantages. There's no need to be camera-ready. You can listen while moving around or multitasking. And for many participants, the absence of video actually makes it easier to focus on the content and engage in conversation.

Before the Event

Find your access details — Confirm how you'll be joining the audio session. This is usually a link or access code provided after registration, on the event page, or in a confirmation notification.

Check your audio setup — If you intend to speak or ask questions during the event, test your microphone beforehand. Dial-in or app-based audio events may have different technical requirements, so review the event information in advance.

Review the event format — Some audio events are broadcast-style (a small group speaks, others listen). Others are open discussions where any attendee can contribute. Knowing which format to expect helps you prepare.

During the Event

Follow any instructions the host provides at the start for how questions or comments are handled. In moderated formats, there's usually a process for raising your hand or signalling that you want to speak — use it rather than speaking over others.

If technical issues arise — choppy audio, connection drops — try leaving and rejoining the session. If that doesn't resolve it, check for any support channel the host has set up for the event.

After the Event

Many audio events are recorded and made available to attendees or community members afterward. Check the event page or community feed for any follow-up content, recap posts, or discussion threads the host shares after the session ends.
