Preparing Before You Go

A little preparation makes an in-person event significantly smoother. Before you leave:

Review the event details — Check the venue address, event start time, and any specific instructions the host has shared. Venue details can sometimes change close to the event date, so look for any updates from the host in the days before.

Have your ticket ready — If the event uses tickets, locate yours before you arrive. If it's a QR code, save it somewhere easy to access and increase your screen brightness when you reach check-in to speed things up.

Plan your journey — Know how you're getting there and roughly how long it will take. Arriving even 10–15 minutes early makes the whole experience less stressful.

Checking In

Most in-person events have a check-in process at the entrance. Have your ticket or registration confirmation accessible before you reach the front of the queue. Event staff are there to help — if there's an issue with your ticket or registration, speak to them directly rather than stepping aside and waiting.

taronPass is used for check-in at many events on taron, so if you've registered through the platform, your QR ticket is your entry pass.

During the Event

Make the most of being physically present. In-person events offer networking opportunities that online formats can't replicate — conversations between sessions, informal introductions, and the kind of relationship-building that happens in shared physical space.

Don't feel pressure to work the entire room. A few genuine conversations tend to be more valuable than a dozen brief introductions. Be curious, ask questions, and follow the energy of the event rather than forcing it.

After You Leave

The event isn't over when you walk out. Follow hosts and speakers you found interesting. Join the event's community if one exists. And if you connected with people at the event, follow up — a brief message within 24–48 hours while the encounter is still fresh is far more effective than an introduction weeks later.
