Where to Edit Your Profile

Open your profile from the bottom navigation and tap Edit Profile. Everything is grouped into four tabs — Personal, Interest, Birthday, and Social. Changes save per tab, so use Save Changes before moving on.

Personal

Your first and last name, username, bio, professional details, and contact information.

Username — letters, numbers, and underscores only. taron checks availability as you type and tells you straight away whether the one you want is taken, so you're not filling in the rest of the form only to be rejected at the end.

Bio — 150 characters, with a live counter. Short and specific beats vague every time: "Lagos tech and culture events" tells people more than "Event host." If you're mostly attending rather than hosting, a line about what you're into helps hosts and community founders place you.

Professional information and company — worth filling in if you host in a professional capacity. It's context attendees use when deciding whether to trust a paid event.

Phone number and location — pick your country code, then the number. Your location helps taron surface events near you and helps people find you locally.

A clear profile photo matters more than most people expect. Attendees check host profiles before registering, and a profile with a real photo gets more follows and more replies than one without. Square images crop best.

Interest

Pick up to seven categories — Music, Gaming, Food, Business, Wellness, Arts, Fitness, Education, Technology, Entertainment, Social, Family, Outdoors, Non-Profit, Activism, Clubs, Religious, Memorial, Fashion, Nightlife. Your selections show as tags at the bottom of the tab so you can see your seven at a glance.

These are the same interests you chose when you joined, so editing here reshapes your Home Feed and recommendations. If your feed has drifted from what you actually want to see, this is the place to fix it — pick what you'd genuinely turn up for rather than everything that sounds vaguely appealing, since seven honest picks produce a sharper feed than seven broad ones.

Birthday

Add your date of birth and taron shows your age alongside it. Show Age On Profile controls whether that age is visible to anyone else — your birthday still works for recommendations either way, so you can keep the benefits without publishing the number.

Having a birthday on file means birthday event recommendations, birthday wishes from your communities, age-appropriate events, and events with people in your age group.

Social

Link Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn by entering your handle for each. Anything you add is displayed publicly on your profile, so only link accounts you're happy for attendees to find. For hosts, matching handles across platforms makes you easier to recognise and follow.

Changing Your Email

Your email isn't in Edit Profile — it lives under Account Settings → Privacy & Security, since it's tied to how you sign in rather than how you present yourself.

Seeing What Others See

Your profile has a Guest View toggle that shows it exactly as a visitor sees it, with your personal information and settings hidden. Worth a look after any edit — particularly before an event launch, when people will be checking you out before deciding whether to register.
