Hosting an Online Event

This guide explains how to host an online event on taron, including setting up the event, choosing between a standard phone livestream and RTMP for production setups, and going live for registered attendees.

Online Events Are Livestream Events

On taron, an online event is a live experience — not a recording, not a link to an external platform, but a live stream running inside taron that registered attendees watch in real time. When you create an online event, you are committing to going live for your audience. Everything you set up in the event creation flow leads to that moment.

Creating Your Online Event

In the taron event creation flow, select Online Event as the event type. This tells the platform and your potential attendees that the experience is fully virtual and livestream-delivered. If you are running both an in-person component and an online stream simultaneously, select Hybrid Event instead.

Complete the rest of the event setup — title, description, date, time, tickets, and cover image — as you would for any event. For online events, your access instructions are handled through the live stream itself rather than a venue address.

Choosing Your Livestream Type

Once your event is set up, choose how you will go live.

Standard Phone Livestream

Go live directly from the taron app using your phone camera. This is the simplest option and works well for most events — community sessions, panels, Q&As, workshops, and anything where good mobile video quality is sufficient. It is free and requires no additional equipment or software.

RTMP Livestream

For studio-quality productions or more complex setups, use the RTMP option. Inside your event management area on taron, you will find the RTMP URL and stream key to connect your external software or hardware. Enter these credentials into your streaming tool — OBS, vMix, a hardware encoder, or whatever your production setup uses — and it will connect to your taron event stream. Your attendees still watch everything inside taron; the external tool handles encoding and production on your end.

RTMP is a paid feature. Factor this into your event budget if professional production quality is important for your audience.

Going Live

When your event time arrives and your setup is ready, start the live stream from within your event in taron. Registered attendees will be notified or can join from the event page. The stream runs inside the app — attendees do not need to go anywhere else to watch.

During the live stream, your registered attendees can send you gifts in real time. You can see who is gifting, the amounts, and any notes they include. Gift amounts go directly to your taron wallet.

Ending the Stream

When you end the live stream, the event concludes for online attendees. Follow up with your Community and any post-event resources while the experience is still fresh for your audience.
