How Livestreaming Fits Into taron Events

On taron, livestreaming is the delivery mechanism for online and hybrid events. When you host an online event, the live stream is how your attendees experience it in real time — it is not a separate feature but the live layer that runs inside the event itself. Hybrid events work the same way: in-person attendees are at the venue while online attendees join through the live stream.

taron supports two livestream modes depending on the scale and setup of your production.

Standard Livestream (Phone Camera)

The standard livestream is built into the taron app and requires nothing beyond your phone. You go live directly from within your event — no external software, no additional setup. This is the right choice for most events: community sessions, panels, Q&As, workshops, and any experience where quality mobile video is sufficient.

It is free. Any host running an online or hybrid event on taron can use it.

RTMP Livestream (Studio and Production Quality)

RTMP is for hosts who need broadcast-level quality or who are running more complex productions — multiple cameras, professional audio, graphics overlays, or integration with external streaming hardware or software such as OBS, vMix, or similar tools.

When you enable RTMP for your event on taron, the app provides you with an RTMP URL and stream key inside the platform. You enter those details into your external software or device, and it connects directly to your taron event stream. Your audience still watches through taron — the external tool just handles the encoding and production side.

RTMP is a paid feature. It is not available on the free tier.

Choosing the Right Option

Use the standard phone livestream when:

  • You are running a community event, session, or workshop
  • Your production needs are straightforward
  • You want to go live quickly without external setup

Use RTMP when:

  • You need multiple cameras or professional audio
  • You are producing a large event or conference
  • You are using external software like OBS or a hardware encoder
  • Production quality is central to the attendee experience

Who Can Watch

For online events, only registered attendees can join the live stream. The stream is not publicly visible — registration is the gate. This applies to both the standard phone stream and RTMP. Attendees access the live stream from within the event on taron once it goes live.
