Before You Decide

Account deletion on taron is a significant action. Depending on the product configuration, deletion may be permanent — removing your profile, event history, community memberships, and any associated data. Before proceeding, consider whether any of the following applies to your situation.

You are a host with upcoming events — Deleting your account while you have published events with registered attendees creates problems for those attendees. Cancel or complete your events before closing your account. See Managing Attendees for steps to notify your audience.

You have a Wallet balance or pending payouts — Resolve any outstanding financial activity before deleting your account. A pending payout to a closed account is difficult to recover. Review Understanding Payouts for how to confirm your balance is clear.

You are a community leader — Your community and its members will be affected by your departure. Transfer community leadership to a trusted member before leaving.

You just need a break — If you want to step back from taron temporarily rather than permanently, deactivation (where available) is a better option than deletion. Deactivation pauses your account without permanently removing your data.

How to Delete or Deactivate

Account deletion and deactivation options, where available, are found in your account settings. Navigate to the account management, privacy, or support section of your settings menu. The exact label depends on the current version of the app.

  1. Open taron and go to your profile or account settings.
  2. Look for Account, Privacy, or Support in the menu.
  3. Find the Delete Account or Deactivate Account option.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps — you may be asked to confirm your password and acknowledge what will be deleted.
  5. Complete any required steps (such as resolving outstanding payouts or cancelling events) before the deletion is processed.

If you cannot find the option in-app, contact taron support directly — they can assist with account closure requests and guide you through any required steps.

What Happens After Deletion

Once deleted, your profile, events, communities, and account data are typically removed from the platform. The process for data deletion and the timeline for removal are covered in taron's Privacy Policy, accessible from the app's settings or the taron website footer.

You will not be able to recover a deleted account. If you think you might want to return to taron in the future, deactivation is the more cautious choice where available.

Troubleshooting Account Closure

The delete option is greyed out or unavailable — You likely have pending events, active payouts, or outstanding moderation issues. Resolve these before attempting deletion. Check your Wallet and any open events.

You changed your mind after requesting deletion — Contact taron support as soon as possible. Depending on where the process is, deletion may be reversible within a short window.

You want to delete your data but keep some records — Review taron's Privacy Policy for your data rights, including the right to request a copy of your data before deleting.

Common Questions

Can I recover a deleted taron account?

No. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. If you want to keep the option to return, choose account deactivation instead — it pauses your account without permanently removing your data.

What's the difference between deleting and deactivating my taron account?

Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, event history, community memberships, and data. Deactivation temporarily pauses your account without deleting your information, and you can reactivate it later.

What should I do with pending payouts before deleting my account?

Resolve all outstanding payouts before deleting your account. A pending payout to a closed account is very difficult to recover. Check your Wallet and confirm all funds have been transferred out before proceeding.

Do I need to cancel my events before deleting my taron account?

Yes. If you have published events with registered attendees, cancel those events and notify attendees before deleting your account. Deleting your account with active events causes issues for attendees expecting to attend.
