Gifting on Event Pages

How Support and Gifting works on taron event pages — how hosts turn it on and choose a button style, and how attendees send support.

Supporting a Host Before, During, or After an Event

Support and Gifting lets anyone logged in to taron send a financial gift to support an event or its host — directly from the event details screen. You do not need to be registered for the event to send one. If you have discovered an event, follow a host whose work you value, or want to support something you believe in, the option is there for you.

How Hosts Turn It On

During event creation, hosts can enable Support and Gifting separately from ticket setup. They choose how the button reads — Support, Contribution, Buy Me a Coffee, Help Fund, Sponsor, or their own custom text — set a currency, and can add a purpose so supporters know what it goes toward.

Who Can Send Support

Any logged-in taron user who can see the event page can send support, whether or not they are registered. The button appears on the event details screen, visible to everyone viewing it.

This is different from live stream gifting, where only attendees inside the stream can send gifts — event-page support is open to any supporter who finds the event.

How to Send Support

From the event details screen:

  1. Tap the support button (its label depends on what the host chose)
  2. Enter the amount you want to send
  3. Select your preferred currency from the available options
  4. Confirm and send

The amount goes directly to the host's taron wallet. You choose the currency — it is not set by your location.

What It Is For

Supporting a host's work — a direct way to show appreciation and help them keep creating.

Contributing to event production — some events involve real costs, and this lets community members help make it happen.

Cultural expression — within African communities, financial support for creators and organisers is a longstanding form of acknowledgement. taron's Support and Gifting is built to make that natural in a digital context.

Where It Goes

Everything sent through Support and Gifting goes to the host's taron wallet. Hosts can see activity and amounts received through their wallet and Manage Events.
