Supporting a Host Before, During, or After an Event
Event page gifting lets anyone logged in to taron send a financial gift to support an event or its host — directly from the event details screen. You do not need to be registered for the event to send a gift. If you have discovered an event, follow a host whose work you value, or want to support something you believe in, the gift option is available to you.
Who Can Gift
Any logged-in taron user who can see the event page can send a gift. Registration is not required. The Gift button appears on the event details screen and is visible to everyone viewing the event — attendees and non-attendees alike.
This makes event gifting different from live stream gifting, where only registered attendees inside the stream can send gifts. Event page gifting is open to any supporter who finds the event.
How to Send a Gift
From the event details screen:
- Tap the Gift button
- Enter the amount you want to send
- Select your preferred currency from the available options
- Confirm and send
The gift goes directly to the host's taron wallet. The currency you choose is yours to decide — taron supports multiple currencies for event gifting, and selection is not determined by your location.
What Gifting Is For
Event page gifting serves several purposes in practice:
Supporting a host's work — If a host consistently creates valuable events, gifting is a direct way to show appreciation and help them continue.
Contributing to event production — Some events involve real costs. A gift toward the event itself is a way for community members to contribute to making it happen.
Cultural expression — Within African communities, financial support for creators, performers, and organisers is a longstanding form of acknowledgement. taron's gifting features are designed to make that expression natural and accessible in a digital context.
Where the Gift Goes
All gifts sent from the event page go directly to the host's taron wallet. The host can see gift activity and the amounts received through their wallet and event management area.
Currency Support
taron supports multiple currencies for event gifting. You choose the currency at the point of sending — it is your choice, not automatically set by your location or the host's location. The amount is processed and credited to the host's wallet accordingly.
