How taron Delivers Notifications

taron notifies you through three channels simultaneously: in-app notifications that appear when you open the app, push notifications delivered to your device's notification tray, and email notifications sent to your registered address. Each channel can be configured independently — you might keep push notifications on for event reminders while turning off email for social activity.

Notifications are organised into named categories in your settings, each with its own toggle. Here is what each category covers.

Notification Categories

Push Notifications — The master toggle for all real-time alerts delivered to your device outside the app. Disabling this turns off push delivery globally while keeping in-app notifications active.

Social Notifications — Activity from people in your network: new followers, comments on your posts, shares of your events, and friend activity. These are useful but rarely urgent — most members switch these to in-app only rather than push.

Event Notifications — Alerts directly tied to events you have registered for or created. This includes host updates, schedule changes, access link updates, and any changes the host makes to the Event Page after you registered. Keep these on — missing an access link change before an online event is the most common preventable event-day problem.

Email Notifications — Key alerts sent to your taron registered email address. Useful for ticket confirmations, payment receipts, and account security alerts that you want a paper trail for.

Event Reminders — Timed alerts before an event you have registered for. taron sends these at set intervals before the event start time, prompting you to locate your QR ticket, review the Event Page for any host updates, and prepare travel or access details.

Event Invitations — A notification when a host or community member sends you a personal invitation to an event.

Ticket Updates — Alerts when something changes about a ticket you hold — access level, event status, or host-issued updates affecting registered attendees.

Queue Updates — Status notifications for events you are on a waiting list for. These are time-sensitive — a spot opening has a window before it goes to the next person.

Weekly Digest — A curated summary of upcoming events from hosts you follow, community activity, and recommended experiences, delivered on a regular schedule. Good for members who prefer a consolidated overview over real-time alerts.

Comments — Notifications when someone responds to a post or update you made in a community or event feed.

Shares — Alerts when your events or community posts are shared by other members.

New Followers — Notifications when someone follows your taron profile.

Friend Activity — Updates about activity from members in your network — events they are attending, communities they have joined, and similar social signals.

Which to Prioritise

For attendees, the highest-value notifications are Event Reminders, Ticket Updates, and Queue Updates — these carry time-sensitive information you need to act on. For hosts, add New Followers and Social Notifications to monitor audience growth. Everything else can be configured based on how much activity you want in your notification tray.
