Why Event Reminders Matter
It is easy to register for an event and not think about it again until the day arrives — or not at all. Event reminder notifications exist to bring the event back to your attention with enough time to prepare: find your ticket, check for updates, confirm travel plans or access details, and arrive or join ready rather than rushed.
What Event Reminders May Include
Depending on your notification settings and the event configuration, reminders may cover:
- Upcoming event alerts at key intervals before the event (for example, one week and one day before)
- Ticket reminders prompting you to locate and review your QR ticket
- Host update notifications when the event details or access information has changed
- Check-in preparation reminders for in-person events
- Access link reminders for online and hybrid events
Before Event Day
When you receive an event reminder, use it as a prompt to:
- Open the Event Page and check for any updates since you registered
- Locate your ticket in the registrations or tickets section
- Save a screenshot of your QR code as an offline backup
- Confirm travel plans for in-person events, or test your online access method
- Review any host instructions visible on the Event Page
If You No Longer Plan to Attend
Review the cancellation and refund options for the event. For paid events, check the refund policy on the Event Page before cancelling — the window for refund eligibility may be closing.
Managing Reminder Preferences
If you are receiving too many or too few reminders, adjust your notification preferences in account settings. Event reminders are under the event notifications category. Keep them enabled — they are one of the most practically useful notification types on the platform.
