Events Can Change

Even well-organised events change. Venues shift, online access links get updated, sessions are rescheduled, speakers adjust their availability. These changes are a normal part of event management — what matters is whether you see them in time to respond.

Where Updates Appear

The Event Page is the authoritative source for current event information. Before attending any event — particularly in the 24 to 48 hours before — open the Event Page and review it even if you registered weeks ago. Things may have changed.

Notifications surface host updates to registered attendees when important activity occurs. Make sure event notifications are enabled in your settings so you do not miss time-sensitive information.

Confirmation messages for changes to paid events or access-critical details may also come through email or in-app messaging from the host.

Common Types of Updates

Time changes — If the event starts earlier or later than originally scheduled, update your calendar and travel plan accordingly.

Location changes — Confirm the new venue details before leaving. Do not rely on a screenshot of the original address.

Online access updates — For online and hybrid events, the access link may be distributed or updated close to event time. Check your ticket and the Event Page for the current link rather than using one saved from when you registered.

Schedule or agenda changes — Speakers, sessions, or programme elements may be updated. Review if the session you registered to attend specifically is affected.

Ticket or entry changes — Any changes to check-in process, ID requirements, or entry instructions are worth reviewing before you arrive.

What to Do When You See an Update

Read the full update, not just the notification preview. Determine whether it affects your plans. If it does, take action promptly — update your calendar, confirm new access details, or contact the host if anything is unclear.

If a change makes the event no longer workable for you, review the cancellation and refund options while they are still available.

Common Questions

Where is the best place to check for event updates?

The Event Page. It always reflects the most current information.

Will I always be notified about changes?

Notifications depend on your settings and the host's update behaviour. Keep event notifications enabled and check the Event Page before attending regardless.

What if the access link changed and I cannot find the new one?

Check the Event Page, your ticket, and any notifications from the host. If you still cannot find it, message the host directly before the event starts.

Can I get a refund if the event changes significantly?

Review the event's refund policy and contact the host. Significant changes — particularly to event type or time — may be grounds for a refund depending on the host's policy.
