When and Why to Cancel

Plans change. If you've registered for an event and can no longer attend, cancelling your registration early is the considerate thing to do — it frees up your spot for someone on a waiting list or gives the host a more accurate headcount for planning.

The process for cancelling varies slightly depending on whether the event was free or ticketed.

How to Cancel Your Registration

Navigate to the event through your taron account — either from the event page directly or from your registrations list. Look for the cancellation or registration management option. Follow the steps to confirm your cancellation.

Once cancelled, you should receive a confirmation. If the event had a waiting list, your spot may be offered to another attendee automatically.

Refunds for Paid Events

If you paid for a ticket and need to cancel, the refund process depends on the host's cancellation policy. This is usually stated on the event page before you register. Some hosts offer full refunds within a certain window, others offer partial refunds or no refunds after a cutoff date.

If you believe you're entitled to a refund and can't process it through the standard cancellation flow, contact the host directly. For platform-level payment issues, reach out to taron support.

If the Host Cancels the Event

When a host cancels an event, registered attendees are typically notified through taron. Refunds for cancelled paid events are handled according to taron's policies and the host's payment settings. If you don't receive expected communication after a host cancellation, check your notifications and the event page for updates.
